Kaputa: In Search of the Taabwa
It takes many lives to create the deep story of a people. Over thousands of years the Bantu migrated over subsaharan Africa leaving countless languages and cultures in their wake.
In the summer of 2022, we went on a journey in search of one of these communities.
The flagship project is a graphic novel born from a journey through the heart of Zambia. Co-authored with Professor of Linguistics Nancy Kula, this story follows a search for an endengerd language, exploring the intersection of culture, memory, and the physical landscape.
Are there Taabwa speakers still living in Northern Zambia?
